#EOTD: Simple Work Appropriate Eye Makeup

I’m going to be frank with you: it’s Winter here in Sydney, it’s windy, it’s chilly, it’s too dang cold to be spending a geological age doing my makeup in the morning. The quicker I can make a nice simple look to flatter my tired eyes and put my best (faux) face forward, the better.

This subtle work appropriate eye makeup look is an old favourite of mine. It’s very simple with few products needed and minimal technique required, and it gives a nice, subtly defined look that emphasises my eyes without necessarily being too heavy.

After prepping my lids with some eye primer to lock down colour and keep my makeup looking fresh for the entire working day, I applied some neutral colour from Stila’s Eyes Are The Window palette in Soul.

To shape my eye I applied smooth strokes of Stila Metallic Umber Smudge Stick, a soft but waterproof wind-up eyeliner stick, along the upper and lower lashes, focusing more on the outside corner of my lashes. The soft mushroom taupe eyeliner was smudged soft with my pinky finger before it set, and I gave it a very soft little wing from the upper lashes.

To finish I curled my lashes and applied a very light coat of Marc Jacobs Feather Noir Ultra-Skinny mascara in a soft feathery point, and filled in the sparse parts of my natural brow with a delicate flick of It Cosmetics Brow Power.

Total time: five minutes.
Total time including foundation and lips: fifteen minutes.
