I’ve spoken many, many, many times before about how much I like low-key, low effort lip colour. Something that I can apply without juggling lipliner and lip brushes, something I can slick on without needed a mirror, and something that wears away evenly. I’m lazy, what can I say?
MAC Viva Glam V lipstick is my chill low effect lipstick of choice this month. It fits all of my criteria for an easy wearing, daily work color: not too bright, not too fussy, and easy as pie to apply.
Viva Glam V is a slightly pink toffee brown glaze with fine golden microshimmer. The effect of the shimmer isn’t glittery or sparkly, but it makes the lipstick look dewy and bright.
Viva Glam V is medium opaque, giving enough colour to glaze and compliment the natural medium pink of my lips. I tend to eschew coloured lipliner unless the lipstick 100% demands it – which this lipstick doesn’t – and I’m content to apply Viva Glam V over a little clear lipliner or nothing at all. It’s just one of those colours that works best on a natural lip, you know?
Every cent from the sale of a Viva Glam lipstick or gloss – not a few cents, but full RRP – is donated to the MAC AIDS Fund and distributed to local HIV/AIDS charities and support networks. You should only buy your makeup products from authorised retailers to ensure that you’re not getting fake and/or unhygienic products to begin with, but purchasing Viva Glam lip colours from a MAC store or counter will ensure that your dollars will be going to charity.
