Ah, isn’t it wonderful when you find exactly what you’re looking for, before you actually know what you want?
I’ve been in the market for a light, natural lip stain for a while now. While I’ve got some great bright lip stains in my arsenal, I’ve been hankering for a light, natural, my-lips-but-better lip stain that’s work appropriate and easy to maintain. On my last wander through Sephora I scooped up a tube of Sephora Petal Rouge Infusion Lip Stain a while back, thinking that it might be a nice neutral colour to leave in my travel kit.
Well, it turns out that Petal is exactly what I was looking for: a soft, appealing, my-lips-but-better pink. Marvellous!
Petal is a soft pink with a neutral undertone, casting neither blue nor orange. Petal isn’t a bright or overpowering pink, but gently glazes and emphasises my natural lip colour. Very my-lips-but-better, very work appropriate.
The texture of this stain is a light gel that feels like practically nothing at all on my lips. It dries very slowly with only a slightly tacky feeling, and is completely dry after an hour or so. Once it’s completely set and dry I like to top it with a little natural clear lipbalm to maintain the colour and keep it moist and comfortable.
Ah, lovely. A no effort, low key, work appropriate lip colour.
