Ah, is there a nicer Spring manicure than a tidy blunt squoval nail painted in a clean, crisp white? Well, yes: a clean and crisp white lacquer with a tiny hint of colour like Nails Inc Swan Street nail polish. Swan Street is a clean white creme cut with the tiniest pinch of mint green. The green is just enough to cut the harsh flatness of a purely white nail, but not so much that it looks obviously green.
The formula of Swan Street is impeccable. I used two thin coats to achieve a smooth and even finish, with no streaking or pooling. The stubby, curved brush gave a nice smooth edge with only minimal cleanup required. I wore Swan Street for three days without any chipping and only minor tip wear before changing to another polish.
I’ve taken a real shine to white and near white nail polishes lately. I still love my grey lacquers, of course, but there’s something about a super tidy pale nail that always looks so fresh, polished and elegant.
Swan Street is part of the limited edition The New White collection from Nails Inc, featuring four white polishes tinted with a hint of mint, smoky grey, pink and peach. The lacquers are enriched with Porcelain Flower extract, a Thai white flower extract used in skincare and cosmetics for its brightening and illuminating properties. Whether that translates effectively into nail care is still up for debate, but hey, it’s a nice idea.
The new packaging on Nails Inc polishes is to die for, by the way. It’s pleasingly solid and feels super luxe, and I think it definitely compliments the quality of the nail polish inside.
