Imagine a peach. Imagine a peach that’s so ripe that it’s almost ready to split, warmed by the sun and soft to the touch. Imagine the peachiest peach you’ve ever seen. Imagine the platonic ideal of a peach. The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Shower Gel is, if you couldn’t predict the point that I’m about to make, the peachiest peach you could possibly imagine.
The soap-free gel formula is gentle enough to use daily on my dry and reactive sensitised skin, with a scent that lingers on my skin for a few hours afterwards. I’m not normally one for body product scents that linger, but this smells so inviting that I’m into prolonging it as much as possible. This shower gel was a quick impulse purchase after a long stressful day at work so I didn’t really take the time to see what else was available in the same scent, but if there’s a light body gel or a body mist then I’m definitely going to need a matching set!
I’ve commented about this on some Body Shop products before, but sometimes The Body Shop is just uncannily good at nailing the perfect idealised fruit scent. It smells bigger and bolder than a real peach – like the ultimate peach – but it doesn’t smell fake or artificial. It’s an amped up hyper-real scent memory of being eight years old and back in QLD, walking around the weekend markets with my dad, eating a yellow fleshed peach still warm and soft from a morning of sweating in a plastic bag on a farmer’s stall. Amazing.
