What’s In My Bag: Melbourne Edition

In My Bag: Melbourne Edition

I’m on the road this week doing that thing that I do, so I’m travelling light-ish when it comes to my skincare and makeup. Keep it easy, keep it simple!

  • ASOS Leather Wash Bag: I’ve been making do with a freebie wash bag for years, but I finally got fed up with the fact that it barely held anything. This leather wash bag from ASOS is like a TARDIS: the inside appears so much bigger than the outside, and I’m amazed at how much I can shove into it. Easily the best few bucks I’ve spent in months. (ASOS)
  • Calvin Klein Euphoria EDP: I’m trying something different this winter and getting out of men’s perfume comfort zone. This amber, persimmon and orchid is slowly growing on me. It’s pretty and warmly feminine, and is particularly nice spritzed onto my big fluffy black scarf. (Adore Beauty)
  • My four basic MAC eyeshadows: Shroom, Nehru, Expensive Pink and Woodwinked. (MAC Cosmetics)
  • The Body Shop Colour Crush lipstick in 205 Passionate Pink: when in doubt, pick a hot pink creme. I also use this as a blush, blending the teeeeeniest dab of colour onto my cheeks while my BB cream is still wet to create the softest rosy flush. (The Body Shop)
  • L’Oreal Nude Magique BB Cream: speaking of BB cream, this has been my go-to daily face base for a couple of years now. It gives good coverage, lasts for hours without needing to be powdered, and dries to a wearable matte finish. (L’Oreal)
  • MAC Faux lipstick (MAC Cosmetics)
  • Laura Mercier Amethyst Caviar Stick: do I need to elucidate further on how much I love this taupe eyeshadow stick? I love it a lot. A LOT. (Adore Beauty)
  • Benefit They’re Real! Mascara: same with this mascara. It’s a travel wonder, with no smudging or crumbling even after hours on the road. (Adore Beauty)
  • Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof 35 Gris: this long wearing smoky grey liner is great for travel as it never needs sharpening and applies smoothly each and every time.
  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance: oh boy, and this too. It’s the best eye primer I’ve ever used, hands down. (ASOS)
  • Aurora Spa Rituals Vanilla & Honey Lip Moisturiser: bone dry air on long flights? No problem. Dry hotel air conditioning? Hell yeah. No matter the situation, this lip moisturiser rules. (Aurora Spa Rituals)
  • Origins Make A Difference Plus: all the deep hydration my dry skin could ever need, in a creamy non-greasy formula. A perpetual winner in my skincare routine, year in and year out. (Mecca Cosmetica)
  • Endota Glycolic Clearing Cleanser: beating the dull skin winter blues without needing to scrub my skin to death? Yes! This glycolic jelly cleanser is my go-to cleanser for resetting my skin into baby soft smoothness, and I always take it with me in my travel bag to beat any breakouts caused by changes of
  • Dermalogica Conditioning Body Wash: I absolutely love this rosemary scented wash, and this little bottle has been with me the length and breadth of Australia, and has the marks and stains to show it. This is probably its last trip though; I’m nearly out and I keep forgetting to replace it! (Adore Beauty)
