Another lip crayon? Yaaaaaaass mama, you know it! Revlon Coquette Colorburst Lacquer Balm is the latest in my rapidly increasing dragon hoard of lip crayons, and the second Revlon lip crayon I’ve tried after Coy Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain.
The formula on this crayon is a hybrid of gloss and balm, with a clingy balm-like feel and a soft glossy shine. It isn’t a high shine diamond finish gloss, but it has a nice lustrous quality that I find to be a little more flattering and wearable than m-m-mega shine. It also features a touch of shea butter and coconut oil, and a wee touch of peppermint oil to create a nice cool feeling on my lips. I like minty balms but I also know that it can be a dealbreaker for some, so your mileage may vary. Wear time is around three or so hours, a little longer if I apply it over a dry-ish lip balm.
Coquette is a pretty as a picture pink with a teeny tiny touch of sparkle. It’s not quite rosy and not quite candy cool, but a healthy posey pink that’s somewhere in the middle. It’s lush but not overly vibrant, with a flattering cellophane finish that works with my natural lip colour.
