A moment of reverence, please: this the first piece of Chanel makeup I’ve purchased. It wasn’t an intentional purchase, mind you – I bought a couple of Chanel eyeliners on behalf of my sainted mother, and elected to keep the liner she didn’t want. Thanks mum!
Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof in 35 Gris is a charming slightly purpled grey with a touch of subtle pearl, ideal for my green/grey eyes and ghost complexion. I don’t want to spend too many words on this liner because I have good intentions of writing about in greater detail soon, but let me at least say this much about it: it’s nice. It’s really, really nice.
#EOTD: Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof 35 Gris eye of the day
Products used: Too Faced Shadow Insurance Candlelight eye primer, MAC Shroom eyeshadow, Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof 35 Gris, Bobbi Brown Black Ink Long-Wear Gel eyeliner, Benefit They’re Real! mascara, Eyeko clear brow gel.
- Firstly I groomed my brows with clear brow gel then primed with Shadow Insurance Candlelight primer, smoothing it from lashline to brow. I then applied a wash of Shroom eyeshadow with a large soft paddle brush from lashline to brow, concentrating the colour on my lid and letting it sheer out closer to the brow line.
- I applied my Chanel liner along the lashline in short light strokes, shading with it like a colouring pencil to create a soft yet dense line. The line was kept thicker at the outer edge of the eye and tapered out in a long straight line to elongate the lashline. I then smudged it along the lower lashes, keeping the edges soft and using an angled brush to subtly pull the line out to join the upper lashline taper. To fill the lashline I applied a tiny whisper of gel eyeliner deep into the outside corner of the upper lashes with a square-ended brush, then curled my lashes and applied They’re Real! mascara on my top and bottom lashes.
Voila! Easy, effortless and chic, all thanks to baby’s first Chanel makeup purchase. Let me know what you think!
