Kester Black Snowdrop nail polish is a clean white frost nail polish. Well, kinda. It’s a frost, but it’s not a frosty-frost. It’s like a very fine silver mesh lacquer, or a pearly white fine grain polish. The formula isn’t streaky like a traditional pearl frost and applies smoothly without brush strokes or pulling, but I still used three thin coats to build up a smooth and flawless finish.
While I own a fair few creme and jelly white polishes (China Glaze White On White, Hello Darling Porcelain, Essie Marshmallow), the only other pearl/frosted white I own is OPI Kyoto Pearl which is much thinner, sheerer and has a much streakier old fashioned frost formula.
I only discovered Kester Black after seeing the queen of Instagram nail art, Oh My Gosh Polish, using a few of their lacquers in her nail designs. If you like the idea of indie polish brands but are a little over the whole ‘mashed up colour explosion glitter jelly sandwich’ indie trend, Kester Black focuses primarily on clean and attractive creme polishes with a few carefully edited frosts and shimmers for variety. It’s an indie brand but it’s a restrained and adult indie brand, which I appreciate. Nice!
