Is it just me or has Bobbi Brown become a lot more… shall we say, fun, lately? In the past few months when I’ve walked past my local Bobbi stand I’ve seen glitter, sparkle and shimmer, with shades of candy pink, bold orange and statement purple, and now the most insanely gorgeous gold holographic nail polish I’ve tried all year. It might even be – and this is a long bow I’m drawing here – possibly the nicest holo glitter I’ve ever worn. Bobbi Brown Chrome Glitter nail polish: it’s bright, eyecatching, shiny… and its from the queen of neutrals.
Chrome is a soft gold holographic nail polish, packed with small dense pieces of holo glitter in a clear suspension base. I used three thin coats to get maximum coverage, but the polish still dried to a nice thin film. The glitter itself is top notch, with ample coverage and a smooth finish that was turned glassy and flawless with just a little dab of top coat.
Chrome Glitter is an excellent, excellent holo glitter, equal to or exceeding some of the holo-orientated indie brands. The only downside is that it’s somewhat expensive at AU$26 a bottle, but if you’ve got some cash to burn and a craving for some seriously blinged out nails, then bowhowdy, is this ever the lacquer for you!
