The budget nail polish invasion of the local market continues, this time with Sinful Colors now available in Australia. This cheap and cheerful 3-free nail import has 69 shades in the basic lacquer line with a promised 6 colour trend collections a year. I’ve got three of the basic line here for your a’swatchin’ pleasure: Why Not, Boom Boom and Cinderella.
Why Not is a bold and bright lagoon blue cream. Bold. Bright. This intense blue is a one coat wonder, with just a single thin coat needed for full colour with no streaking or bald spots. Seriously, this is a kickin’ rad polish, except for one flaw: it stains. It stains a lot. I applied my usual generous coat of China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifier which wards off 99% of lacquer stains, but it couldn’t hold this sucker back.
Boom Boom is a bright bright bright pink creme. It’s a straight two coat lacquer that dried to a nice glossy finish in a few minutes. Pretty but not remarkable, but it’s a fun colour highlight as I’m sliding into my winter uniform of head to toe black.
Cinderella is a delicate baby blue with soft pink shimmer. The formula is a little weak and streaky, but three thin coats have more or less full coverage. There’s a few thin spots here and there, but four coats is the kind of overkill that I can’t be bothered with. The shimmer reminds me a little of China Glaze’s glassy chip formula, managing to be very subtly sparkly without being overly glittery nor a streaky frost.
