I’m late to the party on Laura Mercier Gilded Platinum Illuminating Eye Color from the Art Deco Muse colour collection – this eyeshadow collection cycles colours every season, and I’m right on the cusp of it changing soon to the new Folklore collection on June 30th.
Better late than never though! I snaffled Gilded Platinum last week when I was aimlessly drifting around Myer, half heartedly looking for a new eyeshadow that was gilded bright but not white or silver, and something that was shiny but not glittery.
Gilded Platinum is a wet/dry shadow that changes colour slightly depending on how you apply it. When foiled with a damp brush it comes out as a pure platinum colour, but when applied with a dry brush over primer it turns out as a light champagne shimmer. When applied with a dry brush onto dry skin Gilded Platinum is very sheer, and gives a slightly damp- and dewy-looking effect.
Ugh, excuse how tired I look. Gross! This is a super quick two tone eye look in peach and platinum, with the shimmer cranked up to the max to beat a dull autumn evening.
