That’s how I feel about Butter London Knackered nail polish. It’s… well, it’s pretty gosh danged ugly. It’s a sheer pearly frost that’s violet purple from one angle and an algae green from another, and studded with holographic glitter that errs on the side of gaudiness. It’s a lacquer ugly as sin, let’s be honest here, but for some reason I can’t bring myself to ditch it and make room for a polish that’s more conventionally attractive.
The polish itself is very sheer, so I used four thin coats to get this level of opacity. One or two coats over a soft pastel violet or seafoam green would work just as well. The formula is one of the better Butter London polishes I’ve used recently, applying thin but not runny.
At some point I think I need to try this over a black cream polish to get an iridescent effect, or even just haphazardly sponge it on for a galaxy effect. Either way I need to make a decision on this polish: do I love it, or do I hate it?
