Revlon Tutti Frutti ColorBurst Lip Butter swatch & review

Revlon Tutti Frutti ColorBurst Lip Butter

Revlon Tutti Frutti ColorBurst Lip Butter

A fast lip swatch post to end the week seems like a good idea, yeah? Revlon Tutti Frutti ColorBurst Lip Butter is a moist gel lipstick with a vibrant orange colour and no shimmer or sparkle. It applies with sheer to medium coverage and lasted around two hours on my bare lips. The lipstick itself has quite a strong vanilla scent so if you’re sensitive to perfumes, it may behove you to sniff before you buy.

Tutti Frutti is a super saturated medium orange with a touch of pink undertones in the tube, but on my lips I found that the colour went quite yellowy looking. My lips are naturally quite a rosy pink and tend to tint sheer colours a lot more pink, so the yellow undertone was a bit of a surprise development. I’ve since taken to wearing Tutti Frutti over my beloved Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner in 17C Bright Orange which both keeps the lipstick a true bright orange and keeps colour on my lips for much, much longer than just a Lip Butter by itself.

I need to try some more! I think I have a candy pink lip butter and a red one somewhere that I’m yet to open.

The reds are very nice from what I’ve tested. You should also try the balm stain crayons. They give a similar finish but with much better staying power. I wore Lovesick at work the other day and only had to touch up the inner edges of my lips after five hours of wear.

Are the crayons similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks? ‘Cause my love for those can be seen from space.

I haven’t tried the Chubby Sticks, but from what I’ve heard the Revlon ones stain more. That’s the bit I like most because it’s the most idiot-proof lip colour available. I don’t have to worry about bleeding colour, teeth-smudging or weird fading patterns. Added bonus: you can use a waxy balm (Burt’s Bees works for me but regular Nivea ones don’t) over the top without any colour loss.
