It’s been a week of mad rad Christmas body biz, and I thought it’d be swell to end with The Body Shop’s new seasonal offering of delicious ginger-scented goodness, Ginger Sparkle.
The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle body butter and shower gel are a tasty citrusy, gingery duo, perfect for this blisteringly hot weather that summer is already serving up. Rather than smelling heavy and wintery like so many holiday products out now, these body goodies are gingery, zingy and fresh.
The shower gel is soap free and suitable for all skin types. While it lathers up nicely in the shower and all that jazz, I’m really digging it in the bath. Just a little dash under running water gives some long-lasting bubbles and scents the water beautifully. Now that I think about it, The Body Shop’s Ginger Sparkle wash reminds me of Lush’s Gingerbread House bubble bar from a few years back or Philosophy’s The Gingerbread Man series.
Ginger Sparkle Body Butter is a creamy body moisturiser made from Community Fair Trade shea butter. Despite being, well, a butter (obviously!) it’s a lot lighter than I was expecting. I have dry skin and I’m a total slacker at remembering to use body moisturisers, and most thicker butter products tend to set on my skin and go all sticky. This body butter absorbed like a champ though, and left a very subtle scent on my skin. It’s also almost a perfect compliment to one of my favourite summer perfumes, Origin’s Ginger Essence. Nice!
If you’re a ginger fan, go peep the Ginger Sparkle line at The Body Shop. It’s only available for a limited time so get your skates on for some ginger goodness!
