BALLET BEAUTY: Napoleon Perdis Swan Lake Prismatic Eye Quad swatches & EOTDs

Napoleon Perdis - Swan Lake Prismatic Eye Quad

Napoleon Perdis – Swan Lake Prismatic Eye Quad

Recently I popped past the Napoleon Perdis store in Sydney Westfield and picked up Napoleon’s new ballet themed Swan Lake Prismatic Eye Quad, figuring that although I have the physique of about eight ballerinas rolled together, at least I could look as polished as a classical dancer.

Nah, not really. I just needed a new eye look for work and this palette of cool smoky neutrals fit the bill nicely.

There are four shades in the Swan Lake Prismatic Eye Quad. Applied on dry skin without primer:

  1. icy beige with very subtle pearl
  2. matte mushroom
  3. deep dirty taupe with pearl
  4. charcoal black
The beige and mushroom shades were sheer but workable. The charcoal black has plenty of pigment bit is soft enough to blend out, something important to look out for when using very dark eyeshadows. The standout shade in terms of texture, application and opacity was the deep taupe pearl shade – butter smooth, plenty of colour, and easy to blend. Glorious!

This soft daytime EOTD was taken on a day when I was super tired and worn out, so I upped the shimmer factor by using a pearly golden eye primer and focusing on lighter shadows.

  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance in Candlelight from lashline to brow.
  • Swan Lake Prismatic Eye Quad shade 1 (icy beige) from lashline to brow, letting the intensity fade off towards the brow.
  • Shade 2 (matte mushroom) very sheerly on the outside corner of the lid and along the lower lashline.
  • Black liner and mascara to finish.

This is a basic two minute twist on a smoky eye. I don’t have a lot of lid space and I’m not a fan of blending colour high over my deep eye crease, so I prefer to focus all the colour on my mobile lid and keep the space towards my brow very neutral.

  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance from lashline to brow.
  • Swan Lake Prismatic Eye Quad shade 1 (icy beige) from crease to brow, letting the intensity fade off towards the brow.
  • Shade 3 (dirty taupe shimmer) across the mobile lid, keeping the colour very bold and dynamic.
  • Shade 2 (matte mushroom) blended sheerly close to the crease, focusing on the outside corner of the eye.
  • Shade 4 (charcoal black) blended into the outside corner of the mobile lid.
  • Black liner and mascara to finish.
As far as neutral day-to-night palettes go, this one is a winner. The Swan Lake Prismatic Eye Quad is limited edition though, so go hunt one down before they’re all sold out.
