Oh man, oh man. Butter London Trout Pout nail polish is the exact shade of salmon pink I’ve been relentlessly tracking down for years. Nail polish, lipstick, blush… you name it, if it’s in this shade then I’ve been on the hunt for it.
Butter London Trout Pout nail polish
Trout Pout has quite a lot of white in its base, so the formula is a touch on the thick side. Two thin coats gave a smooth finish with no streaking or funkiness. It was almost – almost – a one coat wonder, but a few tiny bald spots meant that I needed to slap on a second coat for a full finish.
As much as I love the colour, it does have a pretty bigass negative in that this polish has chipped like crazy every single time I’ve worn it. I tried every combination of China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifier and Strong Adhesion base coat, CND Sticky, INM Out The Door top coat and Seche Vite top coat, and it still turned into chip-o-rama after only a few hours. A real shame ’cause this is a kickin’ rad gorgeous colour for summer.
