Is this becoming a theme for me? Am I fated to spend my life tracking down every unicorn/butt themed product out there in Etsy? Hot on the heels of Unicorn Farts comes Unicorn Droppings, a super cute nail polish from Etsy seller Gloss ‘n Sparkle.
Unicorn Droppings is a soft white jelly with silver microglitter and large glitters in shades of red, green, purple, orange and yellow. When I apply it the large glitters get sandwiched in between the layers so some of them end up bright and colourful while others get faded out in the background. It’s a really neat effect and it makes the polish itself more nuanced on the nail, rather than looking like a garish circus of colour.
Normally jellies are manicure hell for me, but Unicorn Droppings was surprisingly easy to apply. In the picture above I used three thin coats and sealed with a glossy topcoat, and it didn’t feel thick or chunky on the nail. The thicker consistency of the jelly formula meant that the large glitters didn’t feel lumpy or bumpy. Nice!
My only real beef I had when it came to applying this lacquer is that the glitters did move quite a bit when applying. You can see that I ended up with more colourful pieces at the tip of my nails and a few bare patches towards my cuticle, so I did a little touch up and patted glitter into the bald spots on a couple of my nails. This is more of a generic issue with glitter polishes than an issue unique to this particular polish though, so it’s not a deal breaker by any means!
My verdict on Unicorn Droppings? If you’re going to get any nail polish themed around the ass end of a unicorn, you should make it this nail polish.
