Get Nude: OPI Barefoot In Barcelona nail polish swatch and review

Get nude: ’cause classic neutral and nude colours needn’t be boring.

So here’s the deal: I don’t like brown. Brown doesn’t like me. I have fair cool-toned skin and, let’s face it, brown looks like shit on me. I can do cream. I can do nudes. I can do taupe, caramel and toffee, but I can’t do brown.

Barefoot in Barcelona nail polish from OPI is a brown creme nail polish. No sparkles, no shimmers, just brown brown brown brown. Brown is what I’m getting at here. Brown, brown, brown.

The lacquer itself is perfectly serviceable – it applied smoothly in two thin coats, it dried evenly without any bubbles, and it was an all ’round a pleasant polish – but I don’t like it on me. Something about this particular shade of brown made my fingers look stubby and yellow. It just didn’t look clean and tidy, y’know?

  1. I actually like the look of this colour. Might check it out next time I am in David Jones.
