Mecca Cosmetica Painted Beauty nail polish in Volumnia (swatches, pictures & review)

What is ‘work appropriate’? Well I dunno, where do you work? What’s work appropriate at the Supreme Court probably isn’t the same as at the local nude bar (unless you work in one hell of an alternate legal system). Generally when people throw around the term work appropriate they mean something like inoffensive to stuffy old men and will not earn the ire of your boss which is fair enough, but a world of work appropriate beige can get awfully boring, you know?

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that if you want to be work appropriate but not a dullsville snoozefest, Volumnia nail polish from Mecca Cosmetica may be just the ticket. Volumina is made from bronze and silver mesh that from a distance creates a muted soft metallic that’s neither flashy nor showy, just interesting without being OTT.

Application was a breeze with only two coats needed.

  1. Work appropriate beige is my enemy. I like the sparkle in this one :)

  2. I really like this. I go through long phases where I don’t wear nailpolish because it’s just so much of a faff, but I think this would still look good when the inevitable chipping on my soft nails occurs. Does the glitter/ shimmer make it difficult to remove?

    • I meant to mention that but forgot for whatever reason. It’s as easy to remove as a regular polish – the little metallic mesh pieces are so fine they don’t have the big contact area of glitters, so they don’t adhere hard to the nail. No soaking or scrubbing needed.
