Hold yourself: I’ve been Etsying again. Long Winter Farm Soap Co. are a small company on Etsy who sell creatively scented body creams, lip balms and fragrance oils. So, no, I haven’t cleverly photoshopped today’s picture. It really says Unicorn Farts.
The balms are made on a natural beeswax and oil base (sweet almond, grapeseed and jojoba oils) with unrefined shea and cocoea butters to give some creaminess. Honestly, they have the nicest texture in a lip balm that I’ve used in recent memory. It’s not waxy or hard, but not slick or greasy either. Earl Grey is full of tangy bergamot orange, just like a good blend of Earl Grey tea. Chai is like a punchy masala chai in balm form, with lashings of cardamom and ginger. Unicorn Farts is a soft mix of creamy mint and fairy floss. Much to my surprise Unicorn Farts was the balm that The Chap claimed for his own, proving that after seven years together he’s still capable of surprising me.
Dandelion perfume oil was an impulse addition to my order but I’m glad I nabbed it. It smells like crushed dandelion leaves, a fragrance I associate so strongly with growing up in QLD – it smells like spring and mown lawns wilting in the midday heat. The oil itself is a blend of fractionated coconut oil and unrefined hemp seed oil, and it features no alcohol. It comes in a glass bottle with a roller ball, sturdy enough to survive rolling around in a handbag.
