Bloom nail polish in Ginger
Well, ain’t this a sweet twist on the concept of ‘work appropriate’. Ginger nail polish by Bloom is a warm beige polish with fine pearl flakes. The sparkle is more of a translucent fish scale effect than obvious glitter, so think ‘subtle’ rather than ‘hideous disco spangle’. The lacquer itself is quite sheer, so I used three thin coats to get full coverage.

My beef with this polish is something I’ve noticed on a lot of Bloom polishes over the last year or so, and that’s to do with the brush itself. The bristles in the brush aren’t cut very evenly, leaving a few that stick out at odd angles and hang over the brush by a few millimetres. With a light polish like Ginger it’s not such an annoyance, but when I’m trying to paint a nice neat curve on my nail with a dark polish and the brush bristles are all janky and uneven, it gives a very rough finish and always needs tidying afterwards.
When you’re selling a nail polish at OPI prices, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect an OPI-grade quality brush.
