Who doesn’t like a cheap thrill? Covergirl Wetslicks Fruit Spritzer lipgloss in Papaya Splash is a sheer, lightweight but high shine gloss with a candy sweet taste and fruity scent.
I normally don’t go for fruity gloss – I’m a peppermint queen and always will be – but as always seems to happen to me, I’d left everything else at home and wanted something cheap and fun to get me through the day.
I think the main thing to point out is how nice this gloss feels. Seriously, it’s light and smooth and not at all sticky. The trade-off is, of course, that the less sticky a gloss is, the shorter its wear time. I found a quick swipe of Papaya Splash lasts an hour or two before it has totally worn away.
The gloss itself is super sheer, giving a barely perceptible glaze of colour with light golden sparkle. It’s not blingy or overly glittery and the shimmer doesn’t feel gritty on my lips. I’m generally not into high colour glosses ’cause I’m an uncoordinated slob and would probably end up accidentally smearing anything high colour all over my face like a drunk Juggalo, so big ticks for being sheer’n'pretty.
Verdict: definitely not the worst impulse purchase I’ve made this year.
