Another one for everyone with me on Team Lazy Makeup! Clinique Vitamin C Lip Smoothie in 20 Guava Good is a shiny moisturising gloss with sheer to medium coverage.
The applicator is a handy self-filling brush applicator. I know some people hate these, but I can authoritatively say that those people are wrong. It’s a fact. So there.
Winding brush applicators are the best because – despite the fact that the first time you ever use it, you’ll spend five minutes of your life twisting it until your wrist hurts just to get the product flowing – there’s no faffing about. I’m clumsy, I drop things, I have spent more than a significant amount of time trying to put a brush back in a gloss tube and missing repeatedly as people watched and took pity on the poor woman with such bad spatial awareness. A brush applicator is just cap off > wind a couple of clicks > aim for your face. Perfect for doing a frantic last minute touch-up in the back of a taxi.
The colour itself is a soft, muted orange. It’s not a pastel shade by any means, but the startling intensity of orange has been faded off. The result is what I’d loosely class as a brightening colour – it doesn’t impart massive amounts of colour or draw attention to my lips, but overall it adds an indefinable ‘something’ that lifts and brightens my fair complexion. Done without being ‘done’, you know?
Verdict: great for lazy and uncoordinated people (me), people who have a computer tan (me), people who have some kind of compulsive need to acquire an infinite number of orange-based lip products (me me me).
