REVIEW: Nivea Visage Daily Essentials Fragrance Free Facial Cleansing Wipes

Sometimes the cheap thrills are the best thrills. I use a lot of cleansing wipes, and that’s being somewhat understated. I carry a few packets in my make-up kit at all times (I love my Bioderma Micellar Solution, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes you just need something big and burly to get everything off) and by some kind of beauty osmosis, they’ve crept into my own bathroom cupboard as well.

NIVEA Visage Daily Essentials Fragrance Free Facial Cleansing Wipes are what I’ve been using lately. Free of perfume, oil and alcohol and suitable to be used around the eyes and mouth, these wipes are handy for nights when I want to get my make-up and sunscreen off before doing a proper cleanse.

As winter is closing in, I’ve been finding that doing my normal pre cleanse with an oil is leaving my skin too dry and tight. I don’t have a great deal of oil to begin with (Team Dry Skin!), so using a oil cleanser is taking away what is an already limited and precious resource. By switching over to a cleansing wipe, I’m effectively still doing a double cleanse – the wipe picks up the majority of the make-up/sunscreen/city pollutants on my skin, thereby allowing my cleanser+Clarisonic duo to cleanse my skin more effectively.

The wipes themselves are decently size and decently moist. The wipes are also double sided, one side smooth and the other a raised pebbly surface. I keep the smooth side for the more delicate skin around my eyes and then go to town on the rest of my face with the textured side.
