MBFW AU Survival Pack: Aesop B Triple C Facial Balancing Gel, Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil

The last show started late and went overtime, you didn’t get to bed until late, and the first show starts at 9AM in some far-flung outreach of the Sydney fashion triangle. You slept badly. You feel like hell. You know it (and I know it, but I’m too polite to say something).

Did I say ‘you’? I actually meant ‘me’, because I’m just awful at maintaining a bright visage during this hectic week. Good thing I have absolutely no compunction about cheating my way into temporary glowiness.

Aesop’s B Triple C Facial Balancing Gel and Trilogy’s Certified Organic Rosehip Oil are a pair of nifty skin boosters to give the spring back in my skin and the plump back to my cheek. This ain’t no flash in the pan thing either; I’ve been a dedicated B Triple C Facial Balancing Gel user for a few years now, considering this aloe-based gel an essential in my skincare wardrobe.

Vitamin B – also known as niacin – is super beneficial when applied topically to the skin. It helps to bond water to the skin, both making the skin immediately more dewy and moist, but also encouraging your moisturiser to maintain its own moisture levels for longer between applications. Vitamin C, the other rockstar in this gel, encourages skin brightness and is a fast fake-it to having a lit-from-within/’two glasses of champagne’ glow.

The best description of B Triple C Balancing Gel goes to The Chap who aptly dubbed it ‘honey for the face’ which, on reflection, is fairly accurate! The gel itself is like a thin honey, both in texture and in colour, that is best applied to slightly damp skin. Massage it in before you crash into bed, wake up the next morning not looking like haggard hell. I’m down with that.

I’m only a recent convert to rosehip oil – some previous brands I’ve tried were a little on the fishy side scent-wise, a scent that this Trilogy oil is mercifully free of – but I’m on my third bottle of Trilogy’s golden glory Certified Organic Rosehip Oil and going strong. Rosehip oil is loaded with naturally occurring retinol and vitamin C, two agents that keep my face looking presentable even on no sleep. I just add a few drops after applying B Triple C Balancing Gel, massage it in and call it a day. Easy peasy.

No sleep? No problem. I’ve just gotta remember to take thirty seconds to use these two gangbuster lil’ facial treatments before I crash out after a hard day of MBFW-ing.

Aesop’s B Triple C Balancing Gel is AU$115 for 60ml, available from Aesop. Trilogy’s Certified Organic Rosehip Oil is AU$21.95 for 20ml, available from Trilogy.

Quick question re: the b trip c – can I use it instead of a serum, and with a moisturiser on top? either way, I NEED IT. there used to be an aesop at london bridge on my way to work but now i’ve moved jobs it’s not there and i’ll have to go online probably… ah well.

It’s p much the baby of a treatment and a serum, so whack in on under a moisturiser and you’ll be good to go.
