I just can’t say no to Lifesaver Musk candy pink nail polish. I mean, obviously I can’t say no to a lot of different nail polishes, but I do have a weakness for cartoony pink nail lacquers. Maybe it’s the antidote to my enormous, seemingly unending collection of steely dark greys?
Pink Friday from Nicki Minaj’s collaboration with OPI is a clean bubblegum pink creme without any shimmers or sparkles. It’s like a musk stick melted onto your nails. It’s like you dipped your fingertips in cupcake icing. It’s like Pepto Bismol put out a nail polish. It’s pink, if you get my drift. Application was two thin coats for full coverage, no lumps or bubbles or funkiness. Definitely a keeper for my collection.
I’ve said repeatedly in the past that I’m not getting any more glitter polishes. They’re a pain to apply, a bigger pain to remove and, as I’m a devout natural nail gal, I’m super wary of anything that scratches up my nail plate.
…but this glitter has holographic bars. Holographic bars. C’mon, I’m only human. I had to get it. Save Me is a mixture of fine silver glitter and holographic bars in a clear base. In the Pink Friday nail shots I’ve used one coat of Save Me as a topper for a statement nail. It’s perhaps a little too glitter-laden to be used as a top coat unless you’re applying it over a dark creme, but it works just fine on its own to create a high coverage glitter nail. I’ve applied three thin coats to get high coverage over clear base coat. YMMV.
Nicki Minaj for OPI is on sale now, AU$19.95 for 15ml. OPI nail lacquers are available from David Jones and from good nail salons. Lacquer on!
