Maybelline – Baby Lips SPF20 lip balm
Ok, ok, so I know I’m a little late with this tube of Maybelline Baby Lips SPF20 lip balm. In my defence when I swung by my local Priceline last week they had nothing but this NYFW-liveried limited edition version of Baby Lips and none of the usual tubes available. I’m sorry! From what I can gather this is similar/the same as the regular Anti-Oxidant Berry Baby Lips balm, so y’know. Close enough, lovely enough.
Maybelline – Baby Lips SPF20 lip balm
My lips have been a little wrecked lately and I’m going through my annual bout of terror about sun exposure turning me into a leathery old husk, so this SPF20 balm is now a part of my arsenal to delay the horrible spectre of age. I’ve avoided SPF lip balms in the past due to the fact they taste like sunscreen, but this balm tastes like… not much, actually. Not a sunscreen aftertaste, not a waxy taste, just a faintly sweet nothingness. It also applies without leaving a white sunscreen cast which, seeing as I don’t have a great deal of natural colour to my lips as is, is a positive as far as I’m concerned.

Baby Lips adds a pleasant amount of shine and lustre to my lips – not gloss-o-rama, but rather a healthy buffed shine. It’s mercifully free of shimmer or sparkles, so it truly is a My Lips But Better product. The texture is light and wearable, neither super waxy or oily. I’m a big believer in make up being effortless and, well, you don’t get much more of an effortless balm than this. Swanky!
Verdict: aging temporarily delayed, lip-wise at least.
The full line of Maybelline Baby Lips SPF20 lip balms are AU$3.95 for 4g, available in Energizing Orange, Smoothing Cherry, Menthol and Anti-Oxidant Berry. Maybelline New York products are available from Priceline, supermarkets and from good pharmacies. Balm on!

Thanks for the shout-out, sugar! Def a fuss-free balm. I think the NYFW tube is prettier than the regular berry anyway!
