Five under $35 is a series of posts about related products that are $35 and under. This week I’m trialling five facial cleansers that are perfect for skincare newbies or those looking to cut the clutter and simplify their skincare regime.
Antipodes – Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser
I’m just going to get this out of the way first: Antipodes Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser smells delicious. Like, oh my stars and garters, this smells divine. Juliet smells like baked apples and cardamom, with subtle deep warm notes coming from the generous lashings of manuka honey. Mmm!
Juliet is a cleanser for normal to oily skin, but it played nicely with my normal-dry skin even when applied with a Clarisonic. Exfoliating extracts from wild hibiscus and kiwi fruit help to combat clogged pores and dull skin, whilst the antioxidant-laden grape extract and natural antibacterial properties of Manuka honey keep your visage clear and radiant.
Despite not having oily skin, I’ve been enjoying using Juliet as my AM cleanser to gently cleanse and remove any lingering traces of heavy night creams or rosehip oil. In the morning my skincare routine is less about exfoliating and deep cleansing, and more about refreshing my skin in order to start the day with a fresh, bright canvas. Also, hello, washing my face with delicious apples is about the nicest way to wake up that I can think of.
Deliciousness aside, this is a handy dandy cleanser for people want to take it easy skin-wise. Juliet isn’t a high foaming gel or a super stripping cream, but rather a gentle liquid wash that whisks away dirt and oil without leaving your skin dry or tight.
Antipodes Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser is AU$33 for 200ml. Antipodes products are available from Antipodes, Adore Beauty and from Myer and David Jones.
