Five cleansers under $35, #1: Jurlique Rose Moisture Plus Cleanser

Five under $35 is a series of posts about related products that are $35 and under. This week I’m trialling five facial cleansers that are perfect for skincare newbies or those looking to cut the clutter and simplify their skincare regime.

There’s something familiar and comforting about Jurlique, isn’t there? It’s an Australian institution built on lavender and rose, and all across the country you’d be hard pressed to ever find yourself too far from a familiar wooden-clad display stocked full of cream and dark brown jars and tubes. For many of us it was our first introduction to things like hand creams and face mists, or our first tentative steps into exploring natural and botanical based skincare.

The latest addition to Jurlique’s skincare family is Rose Moisture Plus cleanser, a lightly foaming cream cleanser suitable for all skin types, in particular people with dehydrated skin conditions that require extra surface moisture to combat flakiness and papery skin texture.

So what’s the dealio? Rosehip oil – a lightweight oil full of fatty acids that help to maintain its protective acid mantle – keeps your skin from drying out during the cleansing process, and a touch of willow bark – aka salicylic acid, a natural BHA exfoliant that encourages skin cell turnover – to promote a smooth complexion.

So who is this good for? Basically everyone! As long as you don’t have a salicylic acid sensitivity, this is a handy dandy cleanser for you. Lots of moisture to keep you hydrated, balanced nicely with just enough gentle exfoliation to prevent dullness. Swank!

Jurlique Rose Moisture Plus cleanser is AU$32 for 100ml. Jurlique products are available from Jurlique boutiques, Myer and David Jones, selected pharmacies and health stores, and from Jurlique.com.au.
