Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick swatch and review

Clinique - Black Honey

Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick

Stare into the blackness. Gaze into the lipstick abyss. Let’s face it: Clinique Black Honey Almost LipstickĀ is pretty darn scary to look at. Ignore that though, ’cause Black Honey is actually a real treat if you’re in the market for a non-staining, sheer, ‘just been kissed’ flush of colour. The lovechild of a gloss and a lipstick, the sheer balm-esque texture gives a soft veil of colour that works with my natural liptones to create something that’s better than natural.

Clinique - Black Honey

Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick

Black Honey is a delicate rosy tint without any shimmer or glitter, and with a satiny balm-like finish. One swipe is enough to give my lips a post-make out flush, two swipes gives a classic English Rose crushed petal tint.

If you read swatchgirl.com on a reasonably regular basis this is going to be an old refrain, but I’m digging Black Honey because it’s a lazy lip colour. Not wearing a slick of makeup? Black Honey. Rocking a smoky eye? Black Honey. Hungover and ashen faced? Black Honey, Black Honey, Black Honey.

Clinique Almost Lipstick is AU$36.00 for 1.9g, available from all Clinique counters and from Clinique.com.au. Happy (almost) lipsticking!

  1. wow that is quiet a surprise in colour. That’s a perfect colour for the “oh i so can’t be bothered but here i made somewhat of an effort” day.

    • Haha, exactly! ‘Effortless’, is my fancy way of saying ‘I love my lazy makeup’, right? ;)

  2. I actually thought it would be black, I love sheer lipsticks. x

    • It’s wonderful in its terrifying black intensity, isn’t it? I love a good sheer that isn’t gloss-o-rama.
