The Year of Hair: Atlantis Hair

This is a little out of the ordinary for me, but hey. You don’t have to see my rude face too often on this website, so you can suffer through looking at it one more time!

I just wanted to give a quick shoutout to the seriously pro guys at Atlantis Hair in Paddington for taking this scraggly wreck and gently shaping me into someone with Nice Hair. They rescued me when I was desperately looking for a last-minute appointment before my Cleo magazine shoot back in February/March and I’ve been pie-eyed for them ever since.

Which brings me to yesterday. I rolled in, bleated that my hair was too dark and then uselessly said ‘I dunno, do whatever you think is best’ over and over again until some hair magic happened and…

I know, I look incredibly annoyed in that picture. I’m not! I’m actually super pleased with this copper and copper-blonde confection. So pleased, in fact, I walked straight out of a Sydney breeze and took a picture without bothering to put on make-up or comb my hair. You know me, nothing but the greatest presentation.
Boy howdy, I’m feeling very Tilda Swinton-esque. I haven’t had hair this light in, uh, about ten years. Suddenly I’m feeling a compulsion to inch my way towards going strawberry blonde for summer…

On a practical note Atlantis Hair uses Original & Mineral products. Today I had two seperate Watercolour ammonia-free colours applied and older colour lifted with a full head of Seaweed Lightener foils. Normally just a few hours after a traditional colour my scalp would be an itchy mass of hellfire and I’d be downing antihistamines like sweeties, but my skin feels calm and not at all irritated.
