Burt’s Bees – Fabulously Fresh Peppermint Rosemary body wash

You’ve slept in. It’s cold and raining outside. You can’t face throwing back the covers and revealing yourself to the cruel, bitter torture of cold bathroom tiles on your bare feet. You’re half-asleep in the shower and your other half is making all sorts of impatient will you hurry up in there I’m cold and you’re wasting the hot water noises.

You need an instant wake up, my friend. Ditch the coffee and slink into the shower instead.

Burt's Bees – Fabulously Fresh Peppermint & Rosemary body wash

If you want to go from zero to shockingly wide awake in five seconds or less, you need to take Burt’s Bees Fabulously Fresh Peppermint & Rosemary body wash for a spin. Take all the zippy freshness of peppermint oil and the earthiness of rosemary, combine in a high lathering body wash and prepare to be unbearably perky after only a few seconds of scrub-a-dub-dubbing.

I’m a mint fiend and freshly crushed rosemary is one of my favourite scents on earth, so I may be a leeeetle biased when I say this smells divine. If you prefer sweet, girly or unscented products, then you’re going to make a face and ewww sounds because this is fresh, a little masculine and not for the faint of heart or tender of nose.
My only quibble is that it leaves my skin a little tight afterwards. It’s not the most drying wash I’ve ever used, but there’s still a definite sense that if I don’t use body lotion straight after showering with this wash I’m going to feel itchy and tight for a few hours afterwards.
On the flip side I’m just so happy to find a body wash that doesn’t smell like a candy factory or a fratboy shower, I’m willing to put up with a bit of extra TLC with my body lotion. Swings, roundabouts.

Want to kickstart your morning? Fabulously Fresh Peppermint & Rosemary body wash retails for AU$19.95 for a 350mL bottle. The Burt’s Bees range can be found at good chemists and natural health stores, Myer, David Jones, Priceline and boutique retailers, or you can shop directly at burtsbees.com.au

  1. Such an honest review, love it. Will sniff this out next time I get a hold of Burt’s Bees- I love peppermint, so hopefully will adore this!

    • If you’re expecting candy cane-style peppermint, you may be in for a shock. This is quite earthy and almost savoury thanks to the rosemary, and the mint itself is more like freshly crushed leaves.

All mint is good mint as far as I’m concerned though!

  2. Does it feel minty-tingly after the shower? And does it lather well?

    • The peppermint oil is more tingly when you’re showering; afterwards it’s more just a crisp feeling on your skin.
It lathers really well! If you used a sponge or a net puff it’d be a bubbly explosion.

  3. I know that’s one of our clients, but you’re so right, that’s such a zingy way to start your day!

    • Ha, I didn’t even realise they were one of your clients!

      IF: feeling hungover, miserable, cold,
THEN: shock your system into wakefulness with a boatload of peppermint sass!
