Phreeeeeeeeow. The make-up styling by Napoleon Perdis for Rachel Gilbert this morning was the bee’s knees – think clean, elegant and sophisticated but never dull or stuffy.
(Don’t forget the magic word: wearable.)
Skin, skin, skin is in. A flawless base was given life and lustre with careful applications of Bronzer Patrol bronzer and Light Patrol luminiser, giving depth and contrast without being overpowering or harsh. The eyes were a nod to one of life’s truly great make-up looks – a slick of pearly creme shadow, a neat flick of liquid liner and lashings of mascara.
The stunning hi-shine silver metallic nails are by Blixz. They shone like diamonds under the runway lights and accented the sequin embellishments on the outfits perfectly. I’m a silver nail fiend so the nails were instant love for me!
Ah, the hair and make-up tent crush. I can’t lie – I’m really enjoying not working on a make-up team this Fashion Week!
This should be no surprise to anyone who has actually ever seen me in real life, but I’m no fashpack blogger. I’m someone who – even when styled and groomed and putting in 110% style-wise – always manages to look like I’ve just recovered from being dragged through a hedge backwards.
I’m wholly unqualified to talk about the Rachel Gilbert show itself, but let’s just say that I made more than a few oooooh noises and elbowed Angie when a particularly gorgeous sequinned confection went past.
Timeless, elegant and all ’round lovely. Well played!
