Viva Glam Gaga II is the second Lady Gaga-themed release for MAC’s Viva Glam charity lipstick line. The first Viva Glam Gaga was a sweet translucent candy pink – peep my review here – but now Lady G is a power nude: super beige, super creamy and a serious slab of colour. Viva Glam Gaga II is an Amplified lipstick which means full colour in a creamy, satiny finish. Be prepared to weild a lipbrush to get the best possible result from this lipstick as it can get quite thick and uneven when swiped straight from the tube.
I, uh. This lipstick and I are never, ever going to be friends. I’m a super cool-toned fairbear with red hair, so if I had to think of the most unflattering lipstick shade possible, a yellow-toned pale beige cream would probably be number one on my list. I was expecting it to be a lot more peachy after reading other blogs and looking at swatches but, as can so often happen in real life, the reality is super yellow and so not my scene. If you have warm undertones and a richer skintone than myself, you could probably rock this lipstick like a complete rockin’ thing.
Comparison time! You can get an idea of how yellow Gaga II is when you see it lined up next to some more traditional nude lipsticks. In order from left to right:
