Things are getting awfully nail polish-y around here, so I think this is the perfect time to talk about something glossy and pretty.
There’s nothing better than an old faithful bit of make-up. Something that’s been riding around on your bag for years, lurking in the glove compartment of your car, ready at a moment’s notice to be used and be as pretty/reliable/useful as ever.
I firmly place the lipgloss tubes from Kit Cosmetics in that category – reliable, pretty, and oh-so forgiving to apply in a rush.
Only Flirting is a juicy medium pink with a delicate warm undertone. It is mercifully free of sparkles or glitter, just a clear juicy cellophane finish that gives a veil of colour to the lips. Now that we’re sliding into summer down here in Sydney, it’s the perfect shade to pop on when the sun is blazing, the roads are shimmering with heat and you just want the bare minimum on your skin – Only Flirting will give you that little dash of colour to brighten your face without being overpoweringly bright or taking a massive amount of effort to apply.
A quick comparison to Lipstick Queen’s Medieval tinted lip treatment and MAC’s Plus Luxe Plushglass, not so much for colour as for a texture comparison. Only Flirting is very smooth and fluid, but not super runny or thin. I don’t find them to be tremendously sticky, but ymmv.
One last note: Kit Cosmetics lip glosses are very, very pepperminty. I’m a huge peppermint fan and will be until my last days, but I know a lot of people prefer mild vanilla or fruity smells in their lipglosses. Forewarned is forearmed!
Kit Cosmetics lip glosses are AU$19.95 and can be snaffled from Kit Cosmetics stores and kitcosmetics.com.au.
