MAC Sheertone Shimmer blush in Dollymix vs NARS Powder Blush in Desire (swatch, comparison & review)

Get ready to rumble, ’cause today is the battle of the candy pink blushes!

NARS - Desire

NARS – Desire

First up is NARS Desire, a clean blue-based pink without any sparkles or pearls. The texture is very silky and when applied to the skin it attains a medium opacity after a couple of sweeps. I’m particularly fond of applying this over a powder foundation like Studio Fix then liberally spritzing with a face mist – once it dries, you get a perfectly luminous, graduated flush to the cheek. I would test this one out first if you have a darker skintone as I suspect the velvet texture of this blush could go a little chalky on application.

MAC Dollymix is a much warmer, rosier blush with a generous amount of golden pearl. Given the Sheertone Shimmer formula, it’s much slower to achieve a depth of colour on the cheek. When applied the golden pearl gives it a slightly apricot undertone, but the colour doesn’t morph completely.
